Our aluminium French doors are the perfect solution for both residential and commercial applications. They are ease of maintenance and built to last whilst keeping the traditional charm of a French door. The doors are manufactured using the same slim-line aluminium profile used on our bi-folding doors.
Aluminium French doors offer strength, durability and are highly resistant to corrosion. Aluminium is the perfect door material for openings not quite large enough for a sliding or folding door. The strength of aluminium enables you to get a door that features super slim sightlines resulting in less frame and more glass.
French doors were traditionally used to add an attractive country feel to the home. However, the introduction of aluminium has enabled us to offer a contemporary design on a traditional product. The doors can be combined with side and top panels to create a solution that suits your home perfectly. You also have the option to specify either outward or inward opening based on your requirements.
Lever / Lever Handle
Our standard door handle used on the traffic door is a lever/lever handle. The levered handle offers a smooth grip and a quality like no other. If you’re looking for something a little different and unique why not choose the traditional swan handle.
The standard glass unit used in our aluminium French door is 28mm in depth and is comprised of 4mm toughened clear glass to the outside, a warm edge spacer bar and 4mm toughened clear Low E glass on the inside.
The inclusion of argon gas in to the cavity of a double-glazed unit reduces the heat conductance between the panes. This happens because the gas is 6 times denser that air.
Pilkington Optiphon is an acoustic laminated glass that offers excellent noise reduction without compromising on light transmittance or impact performance. Two 3mm pieces of glass are put together with a noise reducing interlayer typically 0.8mm thick. This glass offers the dual benefit of noise reduction and security.
Warm edge spacer bars insulate the edges of a sealed glass unit and separate the panes of glass. Traditionally, spacer bars were made of aluminium, however the warm edge spacer bar used in our glass units is an extruded PVC material specifically designed to reduce transference of heat between the panes of glass keeping more heat inside the property. The spacer bar is available in 3 different colours; grey, black and white.
Pilkington’s obscure glass range provides obscuration and decoration. All patterns are classified according to their level of obscurity in relation to each other, with 1 being least obscure and 5 being most obscure.
ATK is our standard cylinder fitted on the master door. The lock comes with the Master Locksmith Association’s highest rating – SS312 Sold Secure Diamond, TS007 3-star rating and British Kitemark accreditations. The ATK euro cylinder has 6 trap pins for advance pick resistance and 10 anti-drill pins that make your French doors stunningly secure.
Our aluminium French doors utilise the latest polyamide thermal break technology avoiding cold bridging (energy that is transformed through the frame, causing heat loss). The doors also come with multiple rubber seals and draught excluders helping to ensure that nothing, but sunlight passes through the doors.
Today’s glazing products have seen incremental improvements in terms of energy ratings and our French doors certainly aren’t an exception. As standard our French doors come with 28mm double glazed argon-filled units incorporating soft coat toughened safety glass. With a suitable triple-glazed glass unit our French doors can achieve u-values as low as 1.4W/m²K.
