Main Responsibilities
- Manual weekly route planning for deliveries across the UK
- Optimising routes for efficiency, cost, and service levels
- Managing last-minute changes including urgent orders and delivery amendments
- Supporting operational demands including remakes and delayed deliveries
- Overseeing compliance for a mixed fleet including 10 HGVs, vans, and company cars
- Ensuring all vehicles meet legal and company compliance standards
- Managing vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and documentation
- Monitoring and managing drivers’ hours in line with legal requirements
- Ensuring tachograph compliance and accurate record keeping
- Supporting driver queries and promoting best practice
- Responding quickly to daily operational challenges
- Managing unexpected issues such as breakdowns, delays, and urgent customer needs
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met
Description
Quickslide is looking for a highly organised, proactive and hands-on Transport Planner & Transport Compliance Officer to join our fast-paced operations team. This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for keeping our transport function running smoothly day to day while ensuring full compliance across our fleet at all times.
You’ll take ownership of planning and coordinating vehicle movements, optimising routes, and making sure deliveries are carried out efficiently and on schedule. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in maintaining transport compliance, from monitoring driver hours and vehicle checks to ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
This is a role where no two days are the same. You’ll be at the centre of the action, responding to challenges as they arise, solving problems quickly, and keeping communication clear between drivers, internal teams and customers. Your ability to stay calm under pressure and keep things moving will make a real difference.

The Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience include:
- Previous experience in transport planning and/or fleet compliance
- Strong understanding of drivers’ hours regulations and transport legislation
- Experience managing HGV operations (desirable)
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- A hands-on, can-do approach with attention to detail
