Location: Brighouse

Hours: Set shift patterns 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am.

Salary: Negotiable

Main Responsibilities

  • Review quality data from the previous week and proactively investigate the reasons for failures
  • Review WIP to identify quality failures, work with fabricators to identify route cause of failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify causes of recuts, rework, and scrap.
  • Collaborate with production, Quality and engineering teams to implement process improvements that eliminate waste.
  • Regularly review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accuracy and relevance.
  • Ensure SOPs reflect current best practices and align with quality standards.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to update and roll out revised SOPs.
  • Facilitate structured RCA sessions using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and Pareto analysis (training to be provided).
  • Ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

The Quality Champion is responsible for ensuring that product quality is maintained at the highest standard, with a key focus on preventing defects from reaching the customer. This role will drive proactive quality initiatives, reduce internal rework and recuts, perform thorough root cause analysis, and continuously improve operational standards and processes.

The Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience include:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments
  • Knowledge of quality tools and techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) (advantageous)
  • Working knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles (preferred)
  • Willingness to attend external training courses as part of personal development
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and specifications
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Experience in a quality, production, or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality standards
