Hours: Night Shift Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6am
Salary: Negotiable
Main Responsibilities
- Load all company vehicles returning from deliveries, safely and efficiently.
- Move windows, doors and associated products into the correct storage locations.
- Ensure all storage areas remain organised and do not become overcrowded.
- Relocate products where necessary to maximise available storage space.
- Prepare loading areas ready for the following day's operations.
- Identify any missing items required for the next day's deliveries.
- Liaise with Loading Supervisors, Production Supervisors and other departments to locate outstanding products.
- Escalate any missing or delayed items promptly to minimise delivery delays.
- Assist with loading vehicles where required to support operational requirements.
- Ensure products are handled safely to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate product identification and storage locations.
- Keep loading bays, storage areas and walkways clean, tidy and free from obstructions.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out basic equipment checks and report defects immediately.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling techniques.
- Wear the required PPE at all times.
- Report hazards, near misses and safety concerns immediately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
- Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Work safely at all times and comply with company health & safety policies.
- Use the correct lifting and manual handling techniques.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain clear pedestrian walkways and emergency exits.
- Ensure all equipment is used correctly and defects are reported.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety training.
Description
Role Purpose
The Night Loader is responsible for ensuring returned vehicles are loaded efficiently, products are stored correctly and outbound loading areas remain organised and ready for the day shift. The role plays a key part in maintaining the smooth flow of products through the factory by preventing congestion, ensuring products are located in the correct storage areas and proactively identifying and resolving any missing items before the next day's deliveries.
Saturday morning rota, with overtime paid at an enhanced rate.
