Main Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely in compliance with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Plan efficient routes and keep to delivery schedules.
- Complete all delivery documentation and scanning accurately.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects to the Transport Manager.
- Lift and manoeuvre finished products onto carts for despatch.
- Scan and safely store windows and doors.
- Load goods securely onto delivery vehicles.
- Assist trade customers with collections when needed.
- Locate items using internal computer systems.
- Handle glass products with care and in line with H&S procedures.
Description
This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two weeks are the same. One week you might be preparing loads in the warehouse, the next you're on the road completing multi-drop deliveries in an 18T Curtain Sider, 18T Box Rigid, or 3.5T van—including nights away from base when required.
The Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience include:
- Valid Class 2 (Cat C) licence and commercial driving experience.
- Confident handling large vehicles, including loading and securing cargo.
- Excellent timekeeping, route planning, and delivery management skills.
- Ability to adapt between warehouse and driving duties as needed.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy loads.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and health & safety awareness.
