Purchasing Manager




Mon-Fri: 8am – 5:00pm




We currently have a vacancy for a Purchasing Manager to join our team as soon as possible. The hours of work are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. The successful applicant would ideally have a background of working within the field of manufacturing, be able to organise themselves and others, prioritise workloads, whilst working to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment and be able to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Negotiation of all purchases of raw material and components
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise relationships with suppliers
  • Monitoring od performance indicators (KPI’s) based on departmental objectives
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations with suppliers
  • Ensure the competence of suppliers to meet business requirements
  • Monitoring suppliers with regards to non-compliance reporting and ensuring that corrections are made
  • Plan and participate with the quality department in supplier audits
  • Optimise and monitor inventory levels min/max
  • Participate in production planning meetings
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, prepare cost-benefit analysis and initiate their implementation following approval
  • Perform other duties are required by the business

The Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience include:

  • Experience with Sage 200 advantageous
  • Knowledge of the fenestration industry advantageous
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001 or AS9100
  • Reliable, autonomous with excellent time management skills
  • Versatile with a good sense of responsibility
  • Rigorous, organised, and attentive to details
  • Demonstrate judgment and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office, ERP systems
