How long will my PVCu windows last?

Replacing your windows and doors is a great way to improve the look of your home, which will likely add worth too. Just like any other home improvement project you will want to make sure that you’re getting plenty of value for your money and that’s exactly what you get with Quickslide. PVCu is a cost effective, durable, strong but lightweight material. It is often considered the perfect solution to replace old windows such as traditional timber ones reducing the level of maintenance needed without losing out on aesthetics. PVCu doesn’t mean you can’t have a replicate of your traditional heritage windows. At Quickslide we offer three different PVCu window systems including Sliding Sash Windows, Casement Windows and Flush Casement Windows. With 8 stock woodgrain foils and a wide selection of heritage features available we can create a solution that mimics the look of your traditional windows.

Usually, PVCu windows have a lifespan of roughly 20 years depending on the quality of craftmanship, where the windows are situated and how well you look after them. You can help to get the full lifespan out of your PVCu windows by occasionally wiping down the frame with soapy water. We recommend avoiding any harsh cleaning chemicals and using a white soft cloth that is not abrasive or coloured just in case the colour rubs off onto the frame.

To increase the lifespan further, you should always do a bit of research before buying new windows to make sure you’re buying from a reputable supplier. Find out who the supplier is, how long they’ve been in business and find out what other people that have used their services have said about them. By doing your research, you’ll gain insight into the level of service and quality you’re going to get.
