Aluminium Sliding Patio Doors

Glazed Fixed Light
Our aluminium sliding patio doors feature a direct glazed fixed light, removing the need for a fixed dummy sash and providing a sleeker, more modern aesthetic. This design not only enhances the glass-to-frame ratio, allowing for more natural light and uninterrupted views, but also improves thermal efficiency by reducing unnecessary framing. This streamlined approach creates a cleaner, more contemporary finish while maintaining the durability and high performance expected from aluminium systems.

Installer Friendly Design
Our aluminium sliding patio doors are designed for hassle-free installation, featuring pre-gasketed, knock-in beads that eliminate the need for time-consuming glazing adjustments on-site. This allows for a quick, precise, and professional fit, reducing the margin for error while enhancing both efficiency and aesthetics. Combining installer-friendly design with premium performance, these doors streamline the fitting process without compromising on quality.

Powder-Coated Aluminium
Our range of garden patio doors in aluminium are made using powder-coated profile from Stellar Aluminium Systems, a brand of Epwin Window Systems. Powder coating involves the application of dry powder to the aluminium, which is then cured under heat to create a uniform finish. This coating serves as a protective barrier against harsh weather conditions, significantly prolonging the lifespan of our doors.

Polyamide Thermal Break
Modern aluminium doors such as our Stellar patio doors feature a thermal break – which in our case is made from polyamide which is a non-conductive material inserted between the inner and outer parts of the aluminium frame to reduce thermal transmittance.

Inline Sliding
The inline sliding design of our Stellar Aluminium door offers a user-friendly experience. This design allows the door panels to slide smoothly along a horizontal track, minimising effort and maximising accessibility. Inline sliding doors are particularly advantageous in spaces where floor space is limited, as they do not require additional clearance for the door to open, like Quickslide’s bifold doors.

Smooth Sliding Track System
Our aluminium sliding patio doors are manufactured with the purpose of being able to slide smoothly with large and heavy glass panels. The door panels are mounted on rollers that glide along a horizontal track, allowing the panels to slide parallel to a wall. This design not only saves space but also makes it easy to use.

Trickle Vent
Building regulations state that most glazing elements require trickle vents. Fitting trickle vents in windows or doors improves indoor air quality and allows airflow even when windows are closed. Trickle vents ensure that that modern buildings meet ventilation standards by balancing insulation properties with adequate airflow throughout the home. We use link vents (5000EA each), which require a 42mm add-on across and above the outer frame.

Glazing Options
Double Glazing
Our aluminium sliding doors come with 28mm double glazing as standard allowing plenty of sunlight to filter through. The glass used in our aluminium doors is comprised of 4mm toughened glass on one side and 4mm clear Low E toughened glass on the other.
Triple Glazing
Triple glazing is made up of three panes of glass with air or argon gas within each of the two pockets. Triple glazing work in the same way as double glazing although with triple glazing you get an extra pane of glass and an extra insulation barrier. The extra pane of glass offers better insulation values.
Spacer Bars
Spacer bars are placed around the perimeter of the glass panes to provide essential structural support and maintain consistent spacing between the panes. Choose from our selection of three distinct bar finishes to complement your door’s aesthetic and enhance its overall appeal.

Laminated Glass
You have the option to upgrade your sliding patio door with laminated glass for enhanced safety. One of the most notable advantages of laminated glass is its safety features. In the event of breakage, the interlayer holds the glass fragments together, preventing them from shattering into sharp pieces.

Weatherproofing
Our aluminium patio doors have been tested to the highest standards of water and wind resistance. The strong aluminium frames and large glass areas will allow natural light into a homeowner’s property, without compromising on weatherproofing. These doors are designed to be able to withstand harsh weather conditions. Our Stellar Inline doors offer both functionality and style, making them a great addition to any modern property.
Thermal Efficiency
Our aluminium doors incorporate a thermal break to insulate them against heat loss and to help keep the home at a consistent temperature all year-round. This thermally efficient design allows these doors to achieve impressive U-values, as low as 1.4 W/m²K with standard glazing and 1.0 W/m²K when installed with a triple glazed unit.

This combination of toughened glass and advanced security can provide peace of mind for any homeowner.

FAQs
View All FAQsAre aluminium patio doors better than uPVC?
Aluminium, being a metal, is naturally more robust than uPVC. However, that doesn’t mean that homeowners should discount the latter. Both are customisable, thermally insulating, and secure. The decision as to which material your customer selects would be largely dictated on design and budget. Become a Quickslide trade partner and you can offer them the variety of choice.
What other doors do Quickslide manufacture?
If sliding aluminium patio doors aren’t right for the project, worry not. Quickslide also manufacture and supply aluminium residential doors, French doors and bifold doors. We also offer a full suite of uPVC doors in many of the same styles.
Because we only work with one aluminium extruder, homeowners can specify wide scale renovations of their property, unifying designs, and colour schemes.
