Alan, the owner of this remarkable property in Little Lepton came to us as he was looking to replace the windows and doors with the aim of maintaining all the aesthetical elements found on the traditional windows and doors. Alan was well-aware of the product quality we produce having previously traded with us and with that in mind he knew we were able to meet his requirements.
“I need to replace around thirty old oak windows and doors in a traditional barn conversion, the finish needs to be sympathetic with the building design and in the correct colours” Alan said.
Our project specialist Jessica took on the challenge and managed to do exactly what was asked. Working closely together and from the advice Jessica gave, Alan decided to go for our PVCu Sliding Sash Windows in our stunning Living Oak woodgrain foil to replicate the look of the old oak windows. For added charm and a true heritage appearance, Alan also decided to include external Astragal bars, run-through sash horns and deep bottom rails. To complement the Sash Windows, we also supplied some non-opening Windows and a couple of PVCu French Doors in the same woodgrain finish. When the project had been completed, Alan told us: “Jessica, the sales representative was excellent, going through all of the detailed specifications and the design of the windows and what finish was available to suit the property”.
The products were made to the project time-scales and fitted by one of our longstanding installers, Steve who according to Alan was “simply superb, with old school qualities, no breakages, no mess and the finished project looked great”.
On top of this, Alan has since then expressed that the heat retention is amazing within the property compared to when he had the old oak windows and that he is over the moon with the finished project.
