Christmas Party Fundraiser
December 2010

At our annual Christmas raffle and auction £3,600 was raised for our adopted charity the (above) who care for terminally ill children. This is more than double what we raised last year and we wish to thank all our supporters who include: Synseal, Revidge Consulting, Paul Guntrip, Flagship Exhibitions, Group Homesafe, Balance UK, World Snooker, Heather Mills, NW Metals, Frontline, Eurotrail, Bluefin Insurance, A-One tools, Computers unlimited, Express Glazing and Windows Active.

The ‘Forget me not Trust’ do a fantastic job in giving terminally ill children and their families exceptional care in time of great need, and the bravery and courage exhibited by these children inspires each and every one of our staff.

We'd like to say a big thank you to all our customers who ordered windows from us on Friday 19th November. We contributed £2 for every window ordered to BBC's Children in Need and managed to raise a whopping £582 for this much deserved charity.

The real 'A' Team

We may not have Murdock, Hannibal, Face and B.A. Baracus, but we’ve got Amy, Mick, Ben and Tom who between them have worked tirelessly to achieve an ‘A’ window energy rating on Quickslides’ vertical sliding sash and casement windows, which is available from 1st October as an option at £25 per m2 to our standard ‘C’ rating.

Don’t miss BBC at 7-00pm Sun 19th Sept when our very own Paul ‘Snowy’ Davison takes on Jimmy White in the World Snooker Open at Glasgow.
Paul, who’s back on the Professional circuit after a year off, has a real chance of winning. He’s only dropped 2 frames so far in his qualifying rounds and has good pedigree under the TV cameras after having only narrowly lost to former World Champion Ken Doherty the last time he was on TV.

As industry pioneers we have to stay ahead of the game, that’s why we have been working extensively on the Window Energy Ratings (WER’s) on both our Vertical Slider and Casement system.
New building regulations demand that all windows fitted from 1st Oct 10 have to be a minimum ‘C’ rating. With efforts made in subtle design changes that don’t affect the appearance of our range and through extensive development work with our glass partners ‘Pilkington’s’ we can comfortably achieve this standard and actually offer an ‘A’ rated at an optional extra cost.
Further information will soon be appearing on our glass and technical pages but for now you can rest assured that anything purchased from us will fully comply with Energy rating standards.

Quality Factory Expansion

Spring 2010 see’s our casement windows and doors move into their own dedicated factory. We've invested over £100,000 in machinery which will allow us to manufacture our Renaissance range as a competitively priced and quick delivered product. By undertaking all our own Glass Manufacture, foiling, extruding and fabricating a full range of sliding sash windows, casement windows, PVCu doors and composite doors we are nearly totally self contained.

Forget Me Not Trust - Donation
December 2009

Thanks to the generosity of our suppliers, customers and employees Quickslide are proud to announce, at a recent charity event, we raised £1330 for the Forget Me Not Trust. The aim of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust Limited is to raise funds to build and run a children's respite centre and hospice in West Yorkshire.

BBC Children in Need - Donation
November 2009

We would like to thank all our customers who placed orders on Friday 20th November. We pledged to donate £2 for every window ordered and we raised a grand sum of £148 for this well deserving charity.

Remembering Jimmy Madigan
October 2009

The 17th of October was the 1st anniversary of the sad death of Jimmy Madigan. We won't forget the positive impact Jimmy had on this business and all of us in it.

In honour of this, and as a token to commemorate the date, Quickslide have donated to Leukaemia Research £2 for every window produced on the 17th October, which amounted to £242.

Especially popular was the cream sliding sash window, of which we have sold over 1000 since we launched them back in May.

We launched our cream base range at easter and its proving a big hit. Just 15% on top of the white price and less expensive than woodgrain. Easy to clean & authentic, they look outstanding on both brick and stone properties.

Casement Windows & Doors

We now manufacture casement windows & doors in the Renaissance suite to match our vertical sliders. Enhancing our factory and product range, we have completed the installation of a dedicated production line employing experienced casement fabricators.

The exhibition was extremely popular and showed the increasing level of interest from the private enthusiast wanting to either do DIY or get very closely involved in small development work.

At the end of October we showcased our windows to the Industry at Interbuild held at Birmingham NEC.

We were pleasantly suprised by the level of interest in our PVC Sliding Sash windows, particularly from many small to medium builders, who were looking to offer their customers a special and quality product.

Particular interest was shown in the range of woodgrain finishes that we showed, includeing White and Light Oak.

Jimmy Madigan (1964-2008)
24th October 2008

It's with great sorrow that we have to mourn the loss of Jimmy Madigan who sadly passed away late on Friday 17th October 2008 after a long illness, at the young age of 44.

Up until his illness Jimmy was the glass shop Manager at Quickslide and contributed greatly towards improving the systems and processes that made the department very efficient. Jimmy was also an expert window fabricator and used his extensive experience to assist in the overall production department.

Jimmy cannot ever be replaced but the skills he passed onto others and the benchmark he set, ensure the department have a standard to work towards achieving.

On a social side Jimmy was a devout family man and loved spending time with his wonderful wife Adele and amazing young son Patrick (12) who has followed his fathers's passion for being an ardent Manchester United fan.

His funeral was held at English Martyrs Roman Catholic Church with an amazing turnout, showing just how popular Jimmy was. If anyone wishes to make a donation towards Bone Marrow Unit, which is Adele's chosen charity, you can do so by sending cheques to Quickslide address in care of Dr Gordon Cook, The Bone Marrow Unit, Ward 89, Bexley Wing, St James Hospital, Beckett Street, Leeds.
